Branson's Family Summer Fun

The Associated Press calls Branson one of the top family vacation destinations in the country and for good reason. 4th Annual Guns & Hoses Fishing Tournament, Saturday August 18, 2012,  is a trout fishing tournament on Lake Taneycomo in Branson, Missouri to bene?t the Branson Fire and Police auxiliary funds.  The entry fee for each two-man team is $75. Lilleys’ Landing is offering 50% off boat rentals again this year. There will be trophies awarded to 1st through 3rd places and big fish. Aug 24 - Aug 26 The 24th Annual Branson Fiddle Festival
The Downtown Branson Fiddle Festival, in its 24th year, is on the fourth weekend of August. It is a nationally recognized championship fiddling contest that begins with a FREE kick-off jam session, demonstrations, strolling performers, workshops and a Saturday night “Square Dance.”  Fiddlers from around the country compete for more than $6,500 in cash prizes. Attendance, which is on the rise, is generally 7,000-10,000. The fiddle is Missouri’s state instrument.
